In 1999 Nike released range of shoes/boots through ACG and Alpha Project, the line featured snow capabilities, both functional and relief purposed, the causal range is often seen in the form of Govy, Izy and Rufus, of which all featuring the snow sole tooling. The snow boots see a new “Form” technology with molded ankle flex notches accommodate a full range of motion and provide a consistent fit for customers, full-length Nike-Air units create a lightweight custom cushion. 

The Pumori is named after a mountain on the Nepal-China border in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas. Pumori lies just eight kilometres west of Mount Everest. Pumori, meaning "the Mountain Daughter" in Sherpa language.
